The New England Aquatic Plant Society is a club representing aquarium hobbyists with an interest in propagating, aquascaping, public education, and conservation of aquatic plants. Our group is comprised of members from many of the New England states, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, and other locations within and outside of the northeast, as well other countries. Our membership boasts expert, prize winning aquascapers to novices just learning about the hobby and everything in between.

The aim of our organization is to educate hobbyists by disseminating information to give individuals the basics knowledge needed to setup and maintain a planted aquarium. Although planted tanks can be more challenging than maintaining regular fish tanks, by exchanging ideas and building experience, a planted tank can be sustained with minimal effort on the part of the hobbyist. In addition to the visual appeal of a naturally aquascaped tank, the benefits to the fauna cannot be measured and the results can be seen in more natural behavioral displays by the fauna. At most monthly meetings, we will discuss such topics such as lighting, CO2 and chemical fertilization, substrates, plant species, and other topics relevant to maintaining a planted tank.
So, come join us to learn more about our club and planted tanks and meet a bunch of enthusiastic and friendly hobbyists eager to share with you their interest in this growing area of the hobby.
